Programs require at least a two week commitment with a 6 month maximum. Every additional 2 weeks costs $140.

Participants stay with a local host family and are provided with breakfast and dinner each day.

Start Dates

The programs in Uganda have completely flexible start dates most months of the year. During the summer months of May, June, July, and August we ask volunteers to arrive on specific dates in order to create a better experience for participants. Participants should arrive in Kampala on the start date. 

We ask that participants not arrive December 23-26 in order to allow our coordinator to spend the Christmas holiday with his family.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in the program fee. We prefer to let participants decide what kind of coverage they need. Please see our FAQ page for information on travel insurance.

All prices are listed in US Dollars. The program fees reflect the costs ELI faces when setting up a program. We work hard to keep our costs as low as possible. ELI is a registered 501(c)3 non profit. US taxpayers may be able to deduct some or all of the program fees.
