Application Fee: $100  (refundable only if we are unable to find a placement that matches your request) 

These progams can last up to six months. Each additional 2 weeks costs $140.

International Work Camps

The International Work Camps last for three weeks and cost $695.  

Housing

Participants stay with local host families who provide participants with their own room and breakfast and dinner each day.  

Start Dates

The programs in Kenya have completely flexible start dates most months of the year. During the summer months of May, June, July, and August orientation starts every other Monday in order to create a better experience for participants. Participants should arrive in Nairobi the Saturday or Sunday before orientation begins.

We ask that participants not arrive December 23-26 in order to allow our coordinator and staff to spend the Christmas holiday with their families.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in the program fee. We prefer to let participants decide what kind of coverage they need. Please see our FAQ page for information on travel insurance.

All prices are listed in US Dollars. The program fees reflect the costs ELI faces when setting up a program. We work hard to keep our costs as low as possible. ELI is a registered 501(c)3 non profit. US taxpayers may be able to deduct some or all of the program fees.
