ELI's programs in Germany offer the perfect opportunity to discover village life in this European country. Church in Enkenbach-AlsenbornThe village is called Enkenbach-Alsenborn, 10 miles west of the city of Kaiserslautern. It is in the Palatinate, with Alsace about 40 miles to the South, the Rhine River about 40 miles to the North or East, and about 50 miles Southwest of Frankfurt. The region is known for its white wines, in particular the Riesling variety. In spite of its rural location, the superb German transportation system means that Heidelberg and the Black Forest are only about an hour away by train. Paris is reachable by train in 2 hours 20 minutes! Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Luxembourg are also easily reached.
