Table Mountain
Maria is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina but she has been living in Texas for the past ten years. She attends Rice University in Houston, Texas where she is double majoring in French Studies and International Relations, with a minor in 'Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities' (PJHC). This minor requires an eight week long service learning internship. Maria decided to do her internship in South Africa this summer because she saw it as a wonderful opportunity to immerse herself in an unknown culture, help a developing country, and live in a modern city. The experience as a whole went above and beyond any expectations she had. "I encourage anyone and every one to challenge themselves and do what I did".
