Accommodations: Participants may stay with a local host family, student residence (only available certain months), or participants may arrange their own housing. -Host Families provide participants with their own room, two meals a day, and laundry. Some homestays are nuclear families with children, while others are couples without children, single adults, or sometimes university students with a room available in their flat. Be sure to note preferences in the questionnaire and we will try to meet requests when possible. -Participants in the Student Residence will live with up to three other international interns or students, dorm style. Participants have a single room, shared bath, kitchen, and living room. The residences include internet access and furnished kitchens. Please note, no food is included. The Student Residence is available early June through mid September, and sporadic availability throughout the academic year. Orientation will take place Monday, and then the first day of the internship is typically Tuesday. During the summer, we have set arrival dates for group orientations. 2016 Arrival Dates: May 8, May 22, June 5, June 19, July 3, July 17, July 31. Most companies are closed these days, so expect to have a day off. If you are arriving during the weekend, you will not begin your program until the day after the holiday. - 1st January (if New Years Day is on the weekend then the 1st Monday in January) Know that there is typically no work to be done between Christmas and New Years, we recommend that you make travel plans if you are in-country during this time. Internships require a minimum 4 week time commitment, but some placements may ask for a longer time commitment. Most nationalities are only able to stay in Ireland up to 90 days. Interns commute to and from their internship each day independently and are responsible for costs associated with transportation.
